This will be a very special 6 weeks as your facilitator, Ainslie is also pregnant alongside you, and journeying through her third trimester! This 6 week series has been designed especially for the hapu mama seeking a holistic approach to staying nourished calm, confident and connected, through the 2nd & 3rd trimesters of pregnancy.

The 5 Pillars of
Pregnancy Hauora

Physical Well-being: Specialized movement promotes mobility, strength, and balance, which can help ease the aches and pains commonly experienced during pregnancy.

Mind-Body-Heart Connection: Through breath awareness and gentle movement, Pregnancy Hauora encourages a deeper connection between the mother and her growing baby.

Emotional Support: The practice fosters a sense of calm and relaxation, reducing stress and anxiety while promoting a positive outlook on pregnancy and birth.

Preparation for Labor: Embodied movement, yoga poses and breathing techniques learned in Pregnancy Hauora can be valuable tools during labor, helping to manage pain and promote a smoother delivery.

Community:Doing this in community (connection via private messenger groups and women’s circles) provides an opportunity to connect with other expectant mothers, feel less alone and share experiences, building a safe and supportive community.

Our Approach

At I AM Yoga, we believe in creating a safe and nurturing environment where mothers-to-be can embrace the journey of pregnancy with confidence and grace. Led by Ainslie, who is also pregnant and journeying through her third trimester, our classes focus on tuning into the body’s wisdom and intuition, crucial for the pregnancy, birth, and motherhood journey. These classes will do this in many ways.

Meet your Facilitator, Ainslie Speedy

I’m a science nerd and a lifelong student of life, yoga, mental and holistic health, and love helping others (and myself) thrive in body and mind. I love learning and variation in my life; you’ll see this trickle into my classes.

I’ve completed 800+ hours of yoga teacher training in India and NZ, & am the founder of this wee business, I AM Yoga, I also teach in-person yoga, retreats & workshops in the King Country. I also run a thriving online yoga studio which I love being able to connect with more women around NZ, outside of our tiny rural town.

I am currently 32 weeks pregnant with my first baby and right now there is nothing I feel more passionate about than combining all of my knowedge to support myself and fellow hapu māmā through this transformative experience. This practice has been my saving grace and super supportive for me throughout my wildly beautiful, rollercoaster of a pregnancy journey. Everything I have studied up until now makes complete sense to me now, there’s this deep inner knowing that it’s all going to be incredibly supportive for my journey into birth and motherhood, too.

To me, practicing and teaching yoga is about creating space for expression, processing stress and emotions, managing the monkey mind, connection to self and community, nervous system nourishment, resilience, playfulness, self awareness, listening to our bodies and giving ourselves permission to slow down. I love bringing real life struggles to our mats and shedding yoga wisdom.

My passion is facilitating students to harness the power to integrate what we learn on the mat and bring this into our everyday life.
