Join Ainslie for 5 incredible weeks (before she goes on maternity leave herself!) of movement, gentle strength & pilates, yoga, breathing & relaxation whilst having your little one close by. No previous yoga experience required, these classes are beginner friendly.

For mum, our Mums n Bubs series has been designed to support you in your postnatal months by helping your body regain strength, core stability, and tone in a safe and effective way. These classes can help relax the nervous system and bring balance to the endocrine system (hormones). We provide a safe, gentle and compassionate space for you to connect with yourself, your baby and other mums, to honour your emotions and the beautiful (and sometimes challenging!) journey of motherhood.

 

We will focus on:

– Re-strengthening and balancing the deep core, pelvic floor, and hips 

– Getting the heart rate up in your own capacity for an endorphin and heart boost 

– Strengthening back and shoulders to help relieve breast feeding tension in the shoulders and chest 

– Stretches and breathing techniques to manage stress 

– Rejuvenating shapes for the sleep deprived days 

– Connect with other mums and make new friends 

– Learn simple practices to take home with you and integrate into your daily life!

*Mamas must be 6 weeks postpartum and have been cleared to exercise by doctor or midwife.

 

What do the babies do?

The classes include some activities to bond with your baby – you will be offered the choice to involve your baby in the yoga postures or have him or her near to you. Ains will help calm babies during Savasana (final relaxation) with gentle sounds and singing bowls – giving you all the rest and relaxation you need.

Bubs can be babies, & crawlers.

We kindly ask you to bring a mat or blanket for your babe. And a yoga mat for yourself (we have spares available)
Since these classes are baby centered, you are welcome to attend to your baby’s needs either by feeding, changing, holding or generally reassuring them in your presence at anytime. With the support of others, you will be able to develop a balance between doing yoga for yourself and meeting the needs of your baby.

Our sessions will end with tea/coffee.

These classes will commence MONDAY 22nd April, 11.15am-12.15pm 

– at The Maternity Resource Centre in Te Kuiti, and will run for 5 weeks. 

 

Limited spaces are available so that every mama and baby get the time and space they need.
